In this role you will add value to PXP by:

In this role, you will be responsible for the in-store (customer present area) of PXP Financials’ product and service offering. You will work together with external customers and internal stakeholders, build and analyse proposed business cases, identify the minimal viable product (MVP), be responsible for the delivery of the product together with our development teams and measure the results as a basis for further investments.

Reporting directly to the Head of Product, whilst liaising closely with other departments within the wider business; this role is ideal for someone wishing to grow in a fast-paced technical yet worldwide working environment, within the financial services sector.

A typical week as a Senior Product Owner might involve:

  • Working closely with external and internal stakeholders: commercial, operation, and development teams.
  • Gathering requirements and defining the product roadmap with product extensions/changes.
  • Analysing business cases and seeing the return on investments (ROI).
  • Investigating and defining the Minimal Viable Product is required to validate the initial hypothesis and the pre-defined measures.
  • Owning the product extension from design until go-live including all supporting documentation (API’s, guides, handovers, training material for various audiences).
  • Managing product and sprint backlogs and proposing prioritization.
  • Organizing and conducting regular backlog refinement meetings with the development team.
  • Performing acceptance testing and making a handover to relevant stakeholders.
  • Supporting the commercial team with pre-sales activities, training them about product offerings and providing analysis of competitors’ product offerings & costs.
  • Maintaining industry directives to make sure our solutions remain compliant.
  • Actively participating in high-profile business-critical projects.
  • Coordinating with the Head of Product and other Product teams on executing the items of the Product roadmap.
  • Building up, extending and maintaining knowledge of best practices for a team of Scrum Product Owners.
  • Supporting the Head of Product in creating and maintaining the Product Roadmap.
  • Supporting Head of Product by defining both the short- and long-term Product strategy.
  • Supporting the Product Owners in the team in prioritizing the respective team backlogs.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has 5+ years’ Product Development experience in a Financial Services / Gateway / Acquiring or Issuing organisation.
  • Must have experience with payment flows for card present sectors, especially Retail, Food & Beverage, Hospitality & Cruise.
  • Should have experience with payment devices (such as Verifone, Ingenico, PAX)
  • Is technically competent to influence and understand the solution context and approach, and aid development in estimating the complexity of work being requested.
  • Has experience in implementing Lean / Agile product development approaches (especially Build-Measure-Learn, Minimal Viable Product).
  • Is proactive and achievement-driven with a passion for value creation and for the pursuit of excellence with a hands-on mentality.
  • Possesses excellent organizational and decision-making skills.
  • Has strong interpersonal skills and is able to communicate well with colleagues, customers, and the company’s Executive Board.
  • Has the ability to work in and adjust to a rapidly changing and developing environment.
  • Holds highly professional written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Is fluent in the English language (written and spoken).

We would love someone to have any of the following:

  • Knowledge about APIs (JSON, XML, GraphQL), system integrations
  • Experience in using applications/tools such as Office 365, Visio, Project, DevOps/Jira, Splunk, Power BI, SQL, Postman/SoapUI.
